i have known did boy 4 3 years & i've always thought he fancied me but recently he stole something 4 me, when i caught him he said it was a joke and i've forgiven him b-coz i cud tell he was sorry! was dat da right thing 2 do???

You shouldn't have forgiven him so easily. if a person says he is sorry and it even shows on his face it does not necessarily mean that he is really feeling that way. It may just be a farce. How can a person steal something and then say it was a joke. He probably said this because you caught him. I am sure he would not have told you if you hadn't caught him. He is leading you on and you need to get away from him. it may sound harsh but people don't steal from those whom they like. so probably he does not think you are important enough so as to not to steal from you.

He stole it for you or from you? Either way, it's not a good sign. If he's never done this before, let him know in no uncertain terms you will not tolerate this kind of behavior again. If you know or have heard from a good source he has stolen before, end the friendship.
Don't believe him when he says it was a joke.
On second thought, since he stole from you and added a lie, I say end it now!

well, depends on what he was really stealing too babes. sure you think he was sorry but down in his own heart he may not be and you never know what has he been upto for all these years that you never noticed in love.

Of course it's not right to steal anything from you. And maybe he really regrets it, but that won't stop him from doing it again. Maybe he needs psychological help.

Well, guess that u know him for some time ..give him that benefit of doubt.But at the same time keep a watch on him.maybe deliberately keep things at his reach and notice if he flicks it.

find out why he stole.and talk to him. tell him that he should always come to you if he needed money. be careful of your things. dont keep valuables lying around. maybe he is into drugs .be careful.
