I have a scar on my knee, too. I used to spend a lot of time at the pool as a kid, and would get super tan, which would highlight the scar very clearly. then my mom suggested that the next summer, I put suntan lotion (with an SPF of higher than 20) on everywhere but my scar.
That seemed to do the trick. By letting the scar get more sun exposure, the rest of my body's tan slowed down enough for the scar to match it.
Maybe that will work for you.

Sorry, but I'm stuck on the fact that you are 13 and have $80 to spend on cosmetics. Next time, save $77 and get a $3 stick of cocoa butter. Rub it on your knees faithfully and the scar will fade with time. It may never go away completely, especially if you are fair skinned, but it will get lighter.

Yeah, I'm with Apple21. Where does a 13 year old get $80 to spend on scar remover? Overpaid babysitter?

Anyway, your scars will fade over time.

You are 13 now, by the time you are 15 or 16 it will fade away on it's own. If it doesn't, then worry about it at that time. No one judges you by scars at your age, just forget about it. I bet you are such a cute child, and so self conscious that you don't even know it. Have a great life, Ron Couch

Sweetie, your fine the way you are. Don't change a thing. I have so many scars on my body I've lost count when I was in high school. I'm 40 now, and man, I look like 40 miles of rough road, but, I look in the mirror, It still looks like me. I have no shortage of friends because of it. Eat right, exercise regularly, and be happy with who you are. No matter what happens in your life, no one can take that away from you...Be well

Firstly, get a refund on the scar remover. Secondly, have patience - as the scar will fade somewhat over time, but thirdly, accept it as part of you. Its a record of you, who you are, where you've been, what you've experienced. So how can it be a bad thing?

There isn't much you can do for scars....

But so they don't get darker make sure to avoid having them exposed to the sun....

If you are not able to cover them while in the sun use a good water-proof (so it doesn't come off if/when you sweat) sunblock. Some good ones are Bull-frog, coppertone, Banana boat.... the higher the SPF the better.
