I know a Croatian girl who has lived in London for 10 years or so. When she first came to London, she was really pissed off that she didn't turn heads when she walked sexily down the street. She's not bad looking (in my opinion) but also nothing special really. She was used to it, in her home town of Zagreb, walking down the street and having guys wolf whistle her etc. and then she'd gladly tell them where to go. As a side note to this, she is now married to a good friend of mine (that's how I know her) who never had that much luck with the ladies in England, but when he goes to Croatia on holiday with her, all the women fancy him like mad! Obviously, that's why she chose him. Even though he's English, he is quite dark skinned and has been mistaken for a Pakistani in the past. It's just that I thought that looks were pretty much universal, but it seems not. Any thoughts?

its all to do with confidence.. a lot of eastern european girls are gorgeous.. especially lithuanians... if you smile and look good.. people are drawn to you no matter what country you are from

Nobody likes a show-off - exactly the reason why Croatia didn't progress through the second round of the Footoball World cup, all show and no substance - useless!. Having a sexy girl walk downtown in England doesn't really so it for the English lads. My friend used to do it - I'm sure they probably talked about it at work later but didn't acknkowledge it in front of her - rather went about their business
Reckon you're right there. A plain Jane in your country can be a sexy Sarah in another - just the subtle differences in appearances I reckon makes a pleasant change from the usual 'stock'

different things are considered beautiful in different cultures, that's why half the women in the world are trying to starve themselves so skinny and the other half of the world larger ladies are the desired thing, in London women a lot of emphasis is placed on personal grooming and the clothes you buy etc, not everyone is sucked in to that way of thinking but it is all too common. She may not live up to the perfection that people expect of women here.

As for your friend, GOOD FOR HIM!!! :D There is someone for everyone out there... Even if you have to travel to find them... ;)
