usb= universal serial bus used to plug cameras etc on computer
ram= random access memory
ROM= read only memory
cache= i don't remember
bios= basic input output system where you change some advanced settings
os= operating system e.x. xp

This may sound insulting, but don't take it that way
the "for dummies" series is excellent for newbies
pc's for dummies, internet for dummies, etc. etc.
I forget the publishers name.
All excellent books.
