Attractive people have always, and will always have an easier time of things; from being served first in a crowded bar to being selected for a promotion at work. But as far as the things that REALLY count are concerned (i.e. family, friends, happiness), appearance has little bearing. At the end of the day beauty fades, but a good heart, intelligent mind, and caring disposition stay with you for a lifetime.

Most definitely. Our first impression of people says a lot in defining what we think of them. If we see someone who weighs 400 pounds, our first thought is, "my gosh, how could someone let themselves get so fat?" and no matter how intelligent they are, we still see them as a fat person and not just a person. The same goes for too-skinny people, people with physical deformities, extremely short or tall people, people with wild hair or piercings, anything that is different from "normal" or "average".

So "attractive" people (on the outside) have advantages in that people are more likely to want to be around them, hire them, and feel comfortable with them from the get go.

They have lots of advantage but then the worth of a person is not only in terms of being attractive physically but most of all the beauty within.

Yes, because they are more often respected and idealized. It sucks but it's sort of true. I remember a while ago I read a study on how mothers were found to treat their children better if they looked more physically attractive.

I can say that it is for sure in small ways (like at McD's, they'll hand out extra food to people they find cute... especially if they are nice), but I don't have enough life experience to say for sure otherwise....

Then again, don't supermodels get money thrown at them to look slutty in front of a camera? How hard can that be?

yes, of course. someone that is better looking than you is always going to get better "reviews" than someone that doesn't look as good. it sometimes makes us angry but that's just the way it is. you know when you don't like to talk to someone that is ugly, really ugly, except for the time when he/she is very good at what they do, like a doctor or something like that. it's normal for people to create relationships of any kind with people they like physically, women or men. and this comes from various reasons. i can give you two of them you like people of the other sex because you find them attractive and because humans are programed to like other people that are correct from a physical point of view, you need a healthy partner to be able to procreate. and symmetry of the face and of the body means beauty and health. two, which is also related to this is the fact that women don't like to be seen with other women who are ugly, because they destroy your nice "add", you look good but you hang around with ugly people...
and the same thing goes on with men. they fear that their girlfriend will be disappointed by their friends and also that they will be judged because of their friends. it's sad but it's what usually happens. so the poor people that don't have blue eyes or blond hair or a perfect skin and a nice slim figure are forced to work harder than people that look good.

Yes, that is why people are having unnecessary surgery to look better when most of the time they end up looking worse, that's why I try to treat people equally.
