Terrorism from Iraq never reached the US in the first place, the 9/11 attackers were from Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Although overall (middle eastern impression and or) terrorism will greatly depend on the nation building in Iraq (which no one even knows is possibe or not), which inevitably is the US responsibilty after choosing to invade and oust Saddam, and finding no weapons of mass destruction i might add. The possibilites are endless. One, nation building succeeds, the Arab world sees this as an example of how to provide enough jobs, develope their countries, etc, etc. which would in turn lead the terrorists to deterr. Second, the US influence is seen as an insult on traditional Iraqi/Arab/Islamic lifestyle/governance and the nation is branded as fake and the US is trying to control the world.

Oil prices won't likely decrease since its becoming a more rare commodity even as i type.

Personally i think democracy is possible in Iraq. The youth have seen enough to want more and they have seen enough war and injustice to know they don't want that in the future.

Now answer me this: why didn't the US govenment have the answers for you before they decided to go to war? what unthoughtful moves if i don't say so myself...

It's truthfully hard to say. Assuming that the will to succeed in Iraq is not crushed by anti-war propaganda, the results decades from now could be quite positive.

The hope is that a true republic consisting of elected officials will last in Iraq. Stability in the region depends on it. State-sponsored terrorism would become a thing of the past. The international community will accept Iraq as a legitimate partner. The nation will prosper and evolve into a country that serves as a model for the rest of the Middle East.

That is the hope anyway. To what extent that actually helps the U.S. directly is up in the air for debate.

Iraq could turn out like the European countries did after the 2nd world war. Never know.. They could straighten up and be a decent country, they just need to get rid of all the terrorism that is polluting there country and after that everything will be downhill.

My glass is half full with Iraq. I believe they will be a great ally in the middle east in the next few years....much in the way Israel is.
