All of the previous answers are incorrect, and are obviously not answered by Masons. Let me give you the real answer:

To become a Mason you must:
Be a man over 18 years old (21 in some places).
Believe in a higher power (whether Christian, Muslim, Jewish, etc.)
You must ask to join. We do not ask people to join. You must ask us.

So if you are interested in becoming a Mason, just contact the Masonic lodge in your area and tell them you want to know more about them. They will be happy to talk to you.

If you have any other questions, please learn from real Freemasons such as myself. Feel free to contact me.

IN ORDER TO BE A MEMBER OF THE FREE MASONS SOCIETY, YOU NEED TO BE RECOMENDED BY A MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING. IT IS A FATHER SON ORGINIZTION, SO UNLESS YOUR DADDY WAS A MASON, THEN YOU AIN'T GONNA GET INVITED EITHER.

Either be related to a Mason or make friends with one. They wear http://www.akershusfpu.no/images/logoer/freemason.jpg that symbol, you can't miss 'em.
