I think they killed the idea off in the end....good job too. Red Dwarf was excellent between series 3 to 6 (inclusive) when Rob Grant and Doug Naylor wrote their best stuff. Two writers from completely different angles: one was more "sci-fi" while the other was more the comedy element.
When ROb Grant left it all went down hill....never as good...actually nowhere near as funny in all respects

elizadushku is sweet - Chloe Annett turned right into a bloody catastrophe as Kochanski. really, 'purple Dwarf' redefined the time period "jumping the shark" at the same time as Chris Barrie left and they killed off Rimmer's personality. The interaction between the 4 significant characters become serious to the instruct and grafting on a whining Sloanie - something Kochanski become by no skill meant to be besides - only destroyed it. dropping a serious personality like Rimmer only helped bury the corpse. Bringing him decrease back did not help, both, because sequence 8 STANK. i become as if the hot writers hadn't watched a unmarried episode of the previous seven sequence. So, a movie? uncertain. The realtively modest returns on 'Hitchikers handbook To The Galaxy' probably stack the percentages adverse to them in the first position, and technology fiction comedy has continually been seen as a tremendous probability besides. in the experience that they made a television. action picture alongside the strains of of "4 Gunmen of the Apocalypse" it would probably artwork, yet I doubt in the experience that they are going to have that a lot regard for the textile. yet even in the experience that they do, in the experience that they positioned Chloe Annett in it, I heavily isn't observing.

With Craig Charles earning all the pennies he needs to keep him with a plentiful supply of crack from Corro at the mo, it seems very, very unlikely.
Just look at how repulsed the women are by Red Dwarf though, he he, God I love being a geek. I'd absolutely thrive on a Red Dwarf movie and 10 more series. Ladies, you have the dross that is Big Brother, Corro and Eastenders, us lads will stick with the Red Dwarfs, Young Ones and Peep Show.

After the pilot of the American version of red dwarf, which flopped(no surprise), thing looked bad. I seriously doubt there will be a red dwarf movie. The plan was for the original crew to play themselves in the movie, but Hollywood wanted big name actors(nooooooooo). Chances are they will never make it, and by the time they probable do, the original cast will be drawing their pension.

It would be cool. But the Americans would probably take over filming it,
You'll probably not have any of the original characters and the American sense of humour is no way as near to us Brits. So the film will be a piece of SMEG!

Not in the foreseeable future as there are to many similar things that have already been done. If it get's done it most likely won't be with the original cast so as it's likely to be similar to thef 'Charlie's Angels' or 'Dukes of Hazzard' rip offs it probably won't be worth looking at anyways.

I hope not. Throwing a decent budget at this stuff will completely rob it of a lot of it's charm. Look what happened when they made series 8 with more money. It just wasn't the same....

I doubt it...
Seeing as Craig Charles has just been suspended from his current job because of his 'alleged' Crack Cocaine escapades, I doubt if he'll be up for much acting work for a wee while!

I would love it if there were, but only if the characters were the same, and itwould also have to have the same cheesy script. if they tried to bring it up to date (like Dr Who) I just don't think that would work.
