Hello ppl got a question on ya. How do i correctly install 1 new HDD, ide, when i already have SATA barracuda\

check your motherboard manual, but simply hook it up, and it should work.
If your SATA is the boot drive, you may have to change the boot order in the CMOS BIOS setup.
Since your topic was daat recovery....let me go one further.
If you want to REPLACE that drive with another, GHOST it to another drive (new one)
Partition magic can do this , or Norton (blecht) Ghost (the only good product they have) or other programs
they will image your old smaller drive to the new large faster drive without data loss.

If you need to perform Hard Drive Data Recovery then you have many third party tool to achieve this process, I suggest you one application that help me to recover my lost Windows data.
