I think the nicest thing I've ever done for someone is given them some money knowing they will never be able to pay me back.

I was parking in a hospital parking lot, a guy backed right into the side of my new truck. I could tell he was not well off, and his wife was in the hospital, I recognized the last name as one that I made medicine for. He didn't want it to be reported to insurance, so I agreed. We exchanged numbers and I was going to get an estimate and he'd pay me out of pocket. A couple of days passed and I called him up and told him not to worry about the damage, he had more important things than this to deal with, and I hoped his wife got well soon.

Let's cover a lot of ground quickly... only God gives life.

Now, if you believe in karma, public display of good deeds is counter-productive. It would be as if you told me in confidence of your troubles and I helped you then blabbed all the details publicly. It may destroy your good name or make you appear as someone you are not.

In most religions they ask that you give anonymously because it is considered a sacrifice of ones self to help another. That means it is between God and yourself how you choose to sacrifice. Would you really want anyone to know this?
