It's all in your own taste. I can list about a thousand bands, but what good would that do? I can say, however, that if your taste is limited to rap, or alternative, or even bubblegum rock, then you are only limiting your own mind. Henry Mancini was probably the best keyboard player in our recent history, and I mean a couple hundred years, then there are the string players, wow, I can't even go there, but Eric Clapton pops up in my mind first, then there are the drummers, wow again, so many outrageous drummers, Ginger Baker pops up instantly in my mind. Not to speak of other writers, sax players, etc. Songs? 'A Day in a Life' pops up first. Beattles did that one. 'Take a piece of my heart' is an all time great, Janis Joplin re-did it in the '60's at Woodstock. It was originally done by someone in the '40's I think, but I can't remember who. Since my mind is on Woodstock, did you know that Paul McCartney financed a major portion of the funds for the event to happen? He threatened to withdraw his support if they didn't allow Jimi Hendrix to perform. Jimi was the first black man to break into the new rock era. though we know Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Fats Domino, etc, etc, etc, were the gut beginning of rock music as we know it now. Elvis was the only white guy allowed to perform rock at one time in history, I wish I could remember the details. I think it is actually in a movie. Anyhow, I hope this answer helps you. Your individual taste in music is the only thing that can really answer your question. Ron
