Train yourself to be knowledgeable in as many areas of life as possible. Try as much as possible to put your facts together on issues from reliable sources and learn to listen and respect others opinions. Treat others the way you want to be treated.

More assured (confident) is something inside you. "Egoist" is a term applied by others to people who are confident, and seem over-confident to them.

Go ahead and assess your capabilities and assets honestly, but be careful how you show them to others. If you are more intelligent than most of the people around you, they will notice that whether you "show off" or not. The difference is in whether or not they understand that you have good will and are not trying to "outsmart" them.

I have an IQ that scares a lot of people, but the only time it scares me is when I realize it may mean that our race is doomed. Since I know my limitations better than anyone else, when I contemplate that, according to this statistical figure called an IQ, the bulk of humanity knows even less about what's going on than I do, I cringe! But it's because people are very specialized: there are people who know plenty more than I do in every area, but not that many who know more than I do outside of their own specialty.

So appreciate what you are able to do, and what you are able to understand, but keep humble by recognizing that none of us gets very far without the sharing of knowledge and capability which we call civilization.

And don't let the occasional accusation of "stuck up" bother you. I doesn't mean a thing.

Life's path is very narrow and has to do a lot of balancing. The right path is the middle path and the most difficult one. You are the best judge to know when your actions are more egoistic and when you are just self assured and when you are feeble minded. You have to depend on your self and walk the path carefully with 100% alertness.

That's easy; just focus on the person you want to be. It bypasses the ego and so deals with only the subconscius mind.

Good question. I think you just need to build your confidence. A self-depricating sense of humour doesn't hurt, either.

develop an "Objective" viewpoint..

Objectivity can be applied to everything..and be sure you include yourself..thus..no Ego will be made manifest.

A nice goal is total Objectivity..try to find that!!
