I haven't been keeping up to date here lately on the most popular rock/metal bands, can someone help me out? Thanks in advace!

I don't know why you bother asking, because the number of rock and metal bands these days is just completely outrageous!!!!! I don't listen to the radio, but I do know which bands are most prevalent.
Popular bands would include: Taking Back Sunday, Hawthorne Heights, Chevelle, Panic! At the Disco, Fall Out Boy, Angels and Airwaves, Underoath, Dashboard Confessional, AFI, Bayside, Halifax, Yellowcard, Story of the Year, Matchbook Romance, Emery, The Starting Line, and Armor for Sleep.
There are so many more, but I think I am going to stop before my eyes start to bleed....

a number of my undemanding bands are: paramore anberlin alesana silverstein taking back sunday thursday the kooks the wombats arctic monkeys pink jumpsuit equipment innerpartysystem ludo metro station panic! on the disco 30 seconds to mars we the kings senses fail hawthorn heigts afi the beatles the killers underoath the kooks(they count number two times on condition that there so outstanding!)

I'm sorta guessing myself but I would say some popular ones right now are Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for My Valentine, HIM, and 30 Seconds to Mars.

red hot chili peppers are awesome! panic! at the disco, system of a down, fall out boy. thats if you like punk, metal rock etc. if u like more pop stuff (girl music) rihanna, pussycat dolls and paris hilton are pretty big

Dragonforce (their new album is Inhuman Rampage. Their call their style "extreme power metal" ---reminiscent of Iron Maiden or Dio)
