There was an interesting movie about this same dilemma ... It was called My Date with Drew about a guy who wanted to go on a date with Drew Barrymore.
You should check it out. He tried some creative means to get in touch with her (sneaking into a party, radio ads, a website, etc.)

Let me get this straight. You firstly want to know how to know to tell if a celebrity is in a relationship and secondly, how to contact them. If you want to contact them to ask them to marry you of something, that is just not okay. If you don't know them well enough to personally ask them about their personal lives, then I don't think an e-mail from a stranger is going to make them love you. sorry.

read the tabloids, they love to gush about being the first to report a couple or break up, as for getting in touch with them, become a famouse star, or writter, or set designer, or something in hollywood and have your people call their people, unless they happen to come from the same town you do.....sadly enough I used to have a band boy's phone number, (he used to mow my grandmothers lawn who knew right?!?) Even stars have to start somewhere, you'd be supprised who you know...

If you're wanting to meet & eventually married the celeb, good luck ! You better be a 10+ and/or have a ton of money.
