So the woman had some beers, the husband too. A fight started. It ended with some shouts and kicks, which resulted in some bruises. The woman does not know what to do now. It is a young modern family; the husband almost never drinks. What should she do?

Is she fearing for her safety? Or was it just a once situation that hasn't happened before. Stress can cause terrible things to happen, so just because a fight got out of hand doesn't mean someone is an abusive spouse. If she fears for her safety she should leave. If not, open communication about the incident with her spouse and how badly shaken up she was would be the best option.

Small bruises turn to big bruises, almost never drinking becomes drinking all the time. NEVER, EVER, EVER STAY IN A SITUATION LIKE THAT!!!! Especially if there are children, they know more than you think they do. I can't believe you are questioning what to do when hitting and even kicking are involved. Here's a question for you, what would you do if you saw someone else getting the crap kicked out of them?? Would you help them or tell them to just stand there and let the abuser continue??????

Drinking is an excuse for violence. If it happens once it will happen again, you let him get away with it this time, that lets him think he can do it again and again,no excuse is good enough to be abused.Get away from him and do it soon.

Leave befor it gets worse and it will no matter what anyone says it will never change if you don't get the hell out. I would leave and never look back.

she should talk to him(when sober) find out what caused the violence within herself and him, then kiss and make up, if it continues stop the alcohol, if it still goes on, seek counceling, and last, end it and move on
