Your mother is wrong. It's a myth that greasy foods and chocolate cause acne. If you're in your teens (or even twenties), it's more than likely caused by hormones.
Hang in there. I had really bad acne in my teens and my skin is great now.

That is both correct and incorrect. Eating greasy foods do not cause acne however eating unhealthy foods all the time or in high doses does cause an imbalance in your body and can cause pimples.
changing your diet and drinking a lot of water may help a little with your acne however washing your face and finding out your skin type and the causes of breakouts will help even more.
People break out from different things, stress, not enough sleep, during their cycle p[in pointing what your cause is and trying to stay away might help getting exercise and a healthy diet may also help. Even going on birth control can help (Ortho Tri cyclen)
Good Luck

It is so not true, acne is typically caused by changes in hormones, especially in females. Now if you have an allergic reaction to the foods you have listed in your question, then you should not eat them.
If you are looking for a way to clear up your present acne, see a dermatologist, but if moms is not willing to kick in for that, see if she would willing to invest in a cleansing system for you, I have had acne since I was 13 and I finally found a product after all these years that works - Arcona, go on line and call the 1-800 number and explain to them your situation, ask for samples so you can try before you buy.

No way. That is a load of rubbish. The items you mentioned got to your hips and ***. Acne is caused by our hormonres. There is nothing you can do about it. On the contrary this means that you are healthy and things are going in the right directions. Another factor that can cause acne is stress. But you didn't mention that in your list. So keep up the junk food.It won't worsen your Acne but it sure wil get you fatter. Isn't that a realief????

Your mum is doing what she see's as right by doing her best to protect your health in general. Eating too much of those foods are not good for you. Whether she is right about if those foods will cause acne or not is another matter. Just appreceate that she is doing her best to look after you because you are her child and she loves you. But medical evidence points to hormones causing excessively oily skin and clogged pores as the cause of acne. Try talking with your mum about it and working out a compromise.

well a good doctor once told me that they may cause acne but if u eat them in huge amounts,i mean like 3 cans of soda,3 choclote bars stuff like these, but the effective reason causing it is not washing the infected area well u need to go to a doctor to prescribe u the suitable soap that suits the type of ur skin, and ur mom's partly right but not completely,dr said that u can eat chocolate once in a month same as spices and sodas

yes food which is oily and contains a lot of fat like chocolate cause things like................acne
and in teenage u walways crave for food liek that..ur mother would have gone through.the same patches........and its good that she has forbidden u from that....cos once in a while u will still eat them by cheating on her and she wont mind that even if she scolds u.
remember mother is the best natural blessing a god gives to a child .......if u have thing like bad skin in the long run u will hate urself and be depressed cos all the guys wont find u attractive
u will always have skin problems till u completely blossom into a woman.but bad food will make them worse

Yes this is a Myth.....The Myth was perceved to be true because after eating fryed foods the grease stays on you hands and then you end up touching your face.....the grease clogs your pores and here comes the zits.....
If you have long hair try pulling it back for a few weeks....the natural oils in your hair or even hair products can cause this as well....
Wash your face as often as possible but make sure to use a oil free moisturizer after washing it to keep in the moisture.....Because dry skin also clogs pores....

Not an expert on acne, but I believe part of the problem is hereditery. I've eaten my fair share of those foods and have never had anything close to resembling acne.
