Placental abruption is a lifting of the placenta away from the uterine wall
Small abruptions in pregnancy can go on to lead to a normal healthy term baby, however there is a chance that it could stimulate contractions and premature labour

Your doctor will
~scan you regularly looking at growth of the baby(good growth means the residual placenta is still working well and the flow to the baby is adequate
~ask you to minimise activity
~plan for an earlier delivery rather than waiting to 40 weeks

Good Luck

I'm not a doctor and I hate to tell you something and be totally wrong but I'l tell you everything I know about the placenta and what it does for the child:

Basicly all it does is deliver food to the unborn child and circulate the unborn childs blood

That's rough, because you'll likely have to cut way back on phsycial activity. There's a much better place to ask this question. Try babycenter.com. They have tons of bulletin boards, and one on placenta previa. Lots of other moms-to-be to chat and trade info with.

you would be bleeding good now if it have been placental abruption. i in my view think of it advance into you pushing off the floor, Ive had this scare until now, yet in view that there is no blood I say each little thing is fantastic. merely verify infant strikes like he ought to.

I have to agree with sentrasersr20de. All things are possible through God. You should be asking your Dr what he thinks the chances of the baby suviving are. We are not your Dr and we could not give you a correct diagnosis.
