It's really hard to speculate, so ask your doc to be sure...just for conversation's sake, however, it could be anything like, "Partial salpingectomy" [refers to removal of only a part of the Fallopian tube]; "partial adnexal torsion" [literally means twisted ovary and refers to one of the causes of pelvic pain following ligation in some patients]; "partial tubal resection" [meaning basically the same as a partial salpingectomy]; "partial sterilization" [which has obvious connotations]. maybe the patient has other issues like fibroids so the doc is recomending a partial hysterectomy as aposed to the tubal?
best to check with the doc who wrote it to be sure.
