I think it would be fun and different. I been to straight weddings and sometimes they are boring.

Seems to me that you're uncomfortable with attending. You say you have nothing against gay people, but do you have a problem with people being gay? There is a difference,"My cousin is gay, that's ok, as long as I don't have to watch her being gay." Do you understand? I think you should attend the wedding to show your cousin that she has your support. Just think of how happy she would be to see you there satnding up for her.

I live in Toronto and we are the 'Gay Las Vegas'....I guess because gay/lesbian marriages are recognized legally.
No, I have never been to such a wedding, although I'm sure it has all the trappings of a hetero event with a few special twists.
Be happy for your cousin, pitch in and help her with any of her plans....perhaps being more involved will help you get over your hee-bee-jee-bees? A wedding is a celebration of love....and committment...enjoy!

I would go and celebrate her love. I am straight, but I have no problem with gay people getting married. They are deserving of the same rights as every other human being and I don't understand why anyone else would be upset about gay marriage and gay rights.

I've been to a gay Union confirmation at my synagogue. It was basically a wedding, but not legal & binding since it's not recognized in South Carolina.
It was just a service, not any festivity.

Yes, my uncles, it was his third. The first one I had been to, it was weird, but I was there for him. So, even though it is weird being at a gay wedding, they have just as many problems as straight people.

It is just wierd because you are so used to going to an heteorsexual wedding. They start and end the same and the reception is usually badass anyway.

Weddings, like funerals, birthday parties, proms; are merely a celebration/show of support/acknowledgment of a part of life.
You should be honored that your cousin thinks enough of your friendship to invite you for this special day.
