i hate wal-mart and i have worked for that comp. i worked for them for 7 yrs and got nothing out of it. most of the workers r mean bc of the sucky pay and how the managers treat them and how some of the customers treat them. it used to be such a good place untill Sam died. now his kids don't care about the ppl all they care about is the money comeing in. that's how i see it. just saying how i feel.

People who like WalMart base their decision on one single factor - their ability to get what they want at the cheapest price they can find.

What they don't think about is that they are supporting a company that:

Pays most of its workers wages that cannot posibly support them.

Has driven thousands of small business owners out of business.

Has destroyed the economic infrastructure of countless American small towns.

Maintains its low prices through cut-throat buying practices that wind up driving many of its suppliers out of business.

Is currently blocking efforts to tighten anti-terrorist port security along the east coast because tighter security will cost them money.

Is essentially a monster destroying everything in its path so you can buy your gizmo for a few cents cheaper.

I make it a general rule not to trust any company that spends millions and millions of dollars on advertising just to tell me what nice people they are. WalMart is the current leader in that category.

It would be a better world if we would use our brains and our hearts as well as our cash when we purchased something.

Peace,

Radical Geezer

I have worked for walmart, but only a few days. I worked in the photo department, where you get your pictures developed and I can tell you right now that was the most stressful job ever. For 1 I was the newbie so the other 3-4 people who worked there let me handle all the mad customers. All they did was take care of the film, which is like a 2 man job, and there was 4 people back there doing it. I had to get the people their pictures, take care of the register (which I had never worked one before), help people with the cameras and what not, and get yelled at cuz one of the machines broke down and they wont get their film in a hour. And even when a machine broke down they still sat back there "working". So my husband called and had a word with them and told them I wont be going back. And its funny cuz when you are first hired they tell you that there is a rule that if you quit that you must tell them the reason why, well they never asked me why, its cuz they know that the job sucked and that no one is going to last long doing it. But anyways! Other than that I do shop there, I live in a small town so there is walmart and thunderbird (which is also a cheaper place to shop for groceries) and also like Safeway, Albertsons and Fred Meyers which are WAY expensive. So yeah, I would never want to work for walmart again but they do have some good prices...

wal mart puts a lot of small retailers out of business. they control everything from prices to the packing of the products they carry the vendors comply just because they buy in such enourmous quantities... quantities that smaller businesses just cant compete with. if a vendor doesn't comply with their demands then they threaten to not buy from them and this scares the manufacturer just because wal mart buys so much from them. ever notice how everything at wal mart is perceived as being cheap? some of the stuff they sell is decent quality but because its at wal mart its thought of as being of lower quality...something that sucks for the manufacturers and its all because they sell everything at such low prices, again because they get great discounts because they buy in such huge quantities.

their customer service sucks, everybody is rude... they act like they just dont care about their customers (they probably dont) and the merchandising is horrible. everything is always out of place and just seems so dirty.

I agree...Wal-mart sux....I worked there for over 2yrs...the customers are rude, and demanding, no matter what you are doing, you're expected to jump to attention and drop everything in your hands to kiss their phatt lazy...and help them find their precious little $20 item that they must have....and then we have to suck up to them even more when they return the $20 item because it only worked for 1year...then oh wait...they didn't buy it at wal-mart they bought it at Target...but that doesn't matter because Wal-mart should take it back since they are a big store...can you tell I despise wal-mart and their 'customer service" ...don't forget the 3 feet rule...bleh

I guess it's become a necessary evil. It is the largest store in town, and generally offers pretty good prices.....but - here as in so many places before - it has driven a lot of the smaller locally-owned businesses into the ground. I'm not sure if the corporate logo is "Succeed at all costs.".....but sometimes it sure seems like it.

I have never worked there. The people at our local store seem nice enough.....but i don't think they are especially well treated. (Maybe they drug them, or something.)

I still shop there, though.....so i guess that makes me part of the problem.

(Oh, the Wally World in question is in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.)

not to be mean but are you from china or japan? because that's what it sounds like when they say wall-mart, I've heard a lady from china say she was going to wa-mart. but to answer the question---- no i don't like wall-mart, I don't buy nothing there or support them in any fashion. It's on account of wall-mart that the people of the US is loosing there factory jobs. wall-mart is buying there products real cheap from over seas and Americans are buying that junk made from there so the demand for American made material is no longer needed.

I've never worked there but I like them, I get almost everything we need from there household item wise. However, I do not like the grocery store part of Super Walmarts. I dont think the quality is as good as a local supermarket.

I like walmart because they are the largest employer of senior citizens in the world... and they have some cheap stuff there... but other than that is sux cuz they promote child labor laws and the employees arent very nice. but walmart is the only store within walking distance from my house so im kinda stuck for now.

My sister worked there. She hated it. She now works at the grocery story H.E.B. and loves it.

I shop there sometimes, but their fruits not really that fresh. I do have to say that I found the nicest swimsuit there and it wasn't too expensive which is the best of all.

I quite honestly like Target better.

It's a Love Hate relationship...

I love it because it is dirt cheap, and I don't have too much cash as of the moment.

I hate it because I know why they have so much stuff for so cheap, it's called exploitation both overseas and here in the USA. They mistreat all their workers/local communities equally (just in different ways... hello one of the ways is callled Sweatshops!).

My Mom once worked for them, I wouldn't work for them, she only did it so that she could better support me during my High School years...
She doesn't work for them ANY more...
