There is no reason for friendships not to occur among people with different lifestyles, religions, philosophies, nationalities, ages, backgrounds, etc. Catholics can be friends with Muslims. Pianists can find friends with kazoo players. Bachelors can be friends with married men. Children can be friends with octogenarians. A ballet dancer can be a friend to a street hip hop dancer. Vegans can be friends with omnivores. Girls can be friends with boys. Asians can be friends with Africans. A wealthy man can befriend a poor man. I'm afraid that in a world with so many divisive opinions of an individual's idiosyncracies we've lost sight of the fact that we are all human and friendships can blossom between any two of us!!

I would say no because most men are insecure about that sort of thing and really worry that the guy might try to hit on them one day. That does not mean it isnt possible for a straight male to be friends wit a gay male but I dont think it is likely. Men are insecure always worried about who is looking at them and if they might get hit on etc.
