You can't raise them the way you should or you be charged with abuse. So they pick what they want to do.

Because there's NO rules set down or enforced by the parents! Also, because nowadays generally both parents work and don't have time to just "be" with their kids! The kids are left to entertain themselves, and they're not gonna choose any kind of work, (or chores), to do for that! Laziness is natural - work takes effort and discipline!
Kids are not only lazier these days, but they're also getting into more trouble - at home, school, and elsewhere!
Like the old saying goes... bad attention is better than no attention!

Every generation says that about their kids. I think it was Aristotle who once said that the generation following his would be the end of all humanity. If this is true, then either early humans were super-hyper or we're all really comotose and don't realize it.
I think as we grow up, our moral values mature alongside our cyncism and we just notice laziness more than we did then.

because there parents go get them cable tv or a computer or a game system and in stead of going out side and doing other things there parents will let them sit there in front of the tv, computer just to keep the kids out of there hair and that is wrong should set limits on all that stuff make them do chores and go out and play instead of sitting in front of tv or computer all the time

Think of it this way...kids don't even need to get up to turn on the tv, or look up a word. All they have to do is have a laptop next to them and the remote in their hand.

itz the parents' genes..the parents' problem...and they let them be so lazy. If they weren't so lazy themselves then maybe they wouldn't take after they're parents.
