They have 10 (count them....10!) series sweeps.
1 8 game winning streaks.
3 6 game winning streaks (currently working on #3)
3 5 game winning streaks.
2 10 game winners (Rodgers & Verlander)
Our Pitching staff has pitched 11 shutouts.
They have the most wins (54).

Are 29 games OVER .500

All this before July 1st.

Even if they finish the rest of the year at .500 they would still win 96 games.

That should be good enough for the wild card.

And please....no way do they "fall apart" in the 2nd half.

Jim Leyland is too good a manager to let that happen.

Their big problem is is that so far this season, they have not played well against the Big Boys in the AL (Chicago, Boston, New York). They're 1-5 against the White Sox, 1-2 vs. the Red Sux, and 1-3 vs. the Yankees, which is 40% of their losses. Since they lost the last series to the White Sox in Chicago, they've teed off on Toronto, Tampa, the Cubs, Milwaukee, St. Louis, and Houston, and go to Pittsburgh before interleague play ends.

They still have 13 games left with Chicago, 3 each with Boston and New York, and 10 with resurgent Minnesota. Those are going to be crucial games to see whether the Tigers can hold off the White Sox.

Ok in all honesty I do not follow the AL except my Red Sox, However the Cubbies are my number 1 team always have been and always will be. This really has nothing to do with the question it is more of a statement. I have to admit that I was glad to see the White Sox win last year, if it could not be my Cubs at least it was still a Chicago team, that said, I am so sick of hearing about how great the White Sox are I personally think that they need an attitude adjustment and I hope your Tigers do it. Detroit is not that far from here. I have seen your answers on a lot of the questions I post my answers to, and I just want to say that I know how you feel about your Tigers, I feel just as strong about my Cubbies!! Hope this is your year and I still have faith that by the grace of God a miracle will occur and my Cubbies will at least get the wildcard. I know I am dreaming but then there is always next year!!

Eldrick. And NO his center call isn't Tiger. He have been on condition that call because of the fact Tiger's father, Earl Woods, had a pal interior the Vietnam war who he nicknamed Tiger. in view that his son reminded him incredibly some his pal her nicknamed him Tiger. it rather is the certainty!

The Tigers just make me look up at God and ask "Why?" The Twins are playing their best baseball in years. And they are 11 games out. Let's hope the Sox fall apart. Go Twins!

Did Holly say Detroit's division was too easy? You might need to see a doctor... or watch Sportscenter once this month.

Absolutely...no way they're going to fall apart. Even if they only play .500 ball the rest of the way that's still 96 wins! And that should be about the worst they can play from here on out. They simply have too much young talent, all peaking this year. They are for real. Playoffs, here we come!

I hate the Tigers for being ahead of the Twins...but man...you guys have the best team in the league far and away. You'd think by winning 15 of the last 17 games, the Twins would gain some ground...nope. My hats off to ya...

THE SOX WILL FALL...

this is what i ahve been trying to get through people's heads all year, they have won 6 in a row, including a sweep each of the cubs, cardinals and the astros, and you cant say the st louis sweep was a fluke, because pujols still hit really well in that series, except for the at bat where joel zumaya carved him up, but honestly, they are showing dominance in both the american and national leagues and it is about damn time

Those are very good stats,
yet they don't have the one stat that really matters like the white sox...

1 World series championship.

But I won't lie to you, its the basically the middle of the season and they are still going strong, they've earned my respect.

But as a white sox fan I can only root for their inevitable downfall.
Becuz as good as they're doing, its still close.
If they really want this more, they'd better not slip up.

I give them credit for an amazing season to this point. However, come september and october the white sox have been through a postseason and gained valuable expierience that the tigers won't have.

The biggest problem is that just about everyone on the Tigers is having a career year. What happens when someone gets hurt or goes into a slump?
