I've been to Lima,OH and I sure as **** wouldn't want to live there.
No offense to people who live there cause where I live sucks too, and they don't even have drive-thru Liqueur stores where I live.
But to your question I believe it would depend on what kinds of recreation you like.
I'm not big on Texas ,but I heard that Austin is kind of cool. Up till now in my life the coolest place that I ever lived was either Boulder,Co or
Arcata,CA

cheapest house market in Lima or whatever it is for a reason. the reason isnt good. quality of life is in the person. you could live in the best place and still be miserable.

There are two places, IMHO: Charleston, SC and Columbia, SC - they have everything you could possibly want except for Carvel softserve ice cream.
