soak them in a small bowl of dawn dish washing detergent...keep 'em in there 'bout five minutes, don't rinse yet, take a perry knife and scrap underneath lightly...this will remove all the thickness under the nail. If they are long, try filing to a short length until you are used to having nails again. and DO keep them painted, color or clear, I suggest a silicone nail polish, it's kinda cheap but it is the best...the very best...luck...

clean them out carefully with the tip of a nail file that works well especially after making sausage rolls! I'm experiencing the same thing at the moment try using an antibacterial hand wash that may make you feel better don't over wash and make sure you moisturise

Just cut them off. Then it won't be such a problem.
Or use a sponge or nail brush. Those work perfectly too, just anything to wash the grind off. Soap and water does the trick fine too, but a shower does usually clean it off without any hassle...

I USE A HALF A CAP OF BLEACH WITH THREE PARTS WATER LET THEM SOAK A LITTLE,THEN USE A SOFT TOOTHBRUSH TO SCRUB THE UNDER NAIL. RINSE AND MOISTURIZE
