Well, people learn how to tell the difference between facts and opinions in grade school. just remember that all facts are not true. Facts are statements that are not opinions. I think you want to know how to tell if someone is telling you the truth or not. The only way to know for sure is to do the research and check out what they say.

The most obvious way to tell is if they also include sources in their answer. Another way you would be able to tell if it is fact or opinion is if it is a widely known and accepted theory, or something of the sort. Most of the time the answer sounds either like a scientific fact, or what someone believes to know. That's just my opinion though :-P

Fact consists of statistics and actual documentation of the event in question. Opinions are deduced from experiences and choices!
