Build your own dude....you will get twice the pute for half the money....It aint that hard. AMD all the way! Cheaper to buy! Just read the mobo manual and it will guide you from beginning to end. When you purchase your board make sure it will accept 3 megs of ram....dont buy one with on board video either! Get yourself a good ATI card with at least 256 megs or more of vidram.

The Sims 2 is a 3D game you may not get much for 400 dollars. You can have a nice base system at 400 dollars but you're going to need to upgrade the video card to a phyiscal one. For 400 dollars you usually get a AMD Opeteron Proccessor which run at 1.8ghz+ depending on the model. 512mb RAM. 80GB hard drive. You can find them anywhere. Wal-Mart, Office-Max. You should try getting a tower only computer if you already have the monitor, keyboard, mouse. Dell has a currently discounted computer for 449 and about 500 after tax and shipping. It's originally 650-750 so I would look into that if you can find an extra 100,

Any computer from eMachine, Dell and especially anything sold at Wal-Mart are not designed for gamers. The reason they are cheap is because they are used for the basics and not meant to be upgraded.

You need to either have someone you know build you one, or buy an HP, Alien Ware, Sony or any other major brand name PC. If you want it for gaming, you better save up a little more money instead of buying one of the cheap brands everyone else is talking about...

I suggest you to go for HP ( Hewlett-Packard) Computer. It has all the latest configuration which are compatible for games and also Windows Vista Capable. Spending a little more ($50-$60) will fetch you a HP or Compaq Gaming PC and also you get a life time free support from them. Congrates for your new computer.

Walmart,, :)..

I was just there and they have computers from $298.00 to $450.00 i believe,

and the one with $450 (emachines and it comes with 17in monitor) should run the Sim2 without any glitches...

EDIT: There you go, you also got another opinion about that computer when I was typing my msg...:)

nice one.
I can get you one like that but you will have to come to India to get it for yourself! :-)
When you went through all this effort of thinking this out, would it not have helped if you could have told us what geographical locations in the world interested you!
And yes, the box I talk of, could store x rated stuff too, if you so want ;-)
