Yeah ... there's a song from the movie Nashville that starts "mama and daddy raised me with loving care, they sacrificed, so I could have a better share, they fed me and nursed me and sent me to school, mama taught me how to share, and daddy lived the golden rule" ... I think it's called "My Idaho Home". A lot of country songs talk about parents (but not only country songs) ... Kathy Mattea (I think) sings a song called "Daddy's Hands" that makes me cry everytime I hear it. Or that "Christmas Shoes" song, about a poor boy trying to buy a new pair of shoes for his mother so she can look good when she goes to meet God. Yeah - a lot of sad ones, but I'm sure there are happy ones too.
