try to figure out why you feel so lonely. are you really alone? confide in your friends and family...maybe they will be able to help. try keeping a journal writing your thoughts, feelings, fears, ideas. write in your journal like you are talking to someone. chances are you may be able to figure out some things about yourself and i promise one day you won't feel so lonely. then, you can look back at that journal and be proud of how far you have come in life!

Loneliness is just another way to feel sorry for yourself! So..when you decide to stop doing that, go out to the movies, coffeeshop, the mall, or better yet start going to a gym. It doesn't matter that you're alone, the problem is when you have that "oohh i'm feeling sorry for myself" face on. People instinctively will not want to talk with someone like that. When you go out there, look at people and smile when they look at you. That's all it takes for a conversation to start up. Exercising is great too because it helps clear your mind and if you take a class of some sort even better. Everybody is in the same boat...tired and groaning over a workout is a great place to start conversations.
Enjoy your life!

There is Nothing better for anything that ails you then to volunteer. Work a soup kitchen, deliver meals on wheels, help a pick one: confused scared child/teenager, an elder in a home who doesn't have anyone visiting, a destitute person trying to get their life back in order, the animals at a shelter, become a Big Brother..Help coordinate a team for a marathon, start a bowling league for underprivileged kids and their parents!. Doing things like this will make you feel like you have purpose, and the confidence and love that you reap from the experience will leave you far richer and never ever lonely (believe me, there is a vast network out there of people that need help and once you help here, well then they need you there, and so on)...Making new friend on top of that? that will be your icing on the cake!

When I feel lonely I find things to keep me content sometimes all you have is yourself because the world can make you feel this way so if you become happy and comfortable with your own company the time just flies by. Drawing, music, sitting outside etc. Just find ways to keep yourself at ease everything else will fall in it's place.

"Loneliness" is silly because YOU ARE NOT ALONE .. look at the blue Sky above.. look at the purity of the sea water.. look at green bright leaves shining on the trees.. look at bright morning and the shinning sun .. look at the moon above.. the shining stars .. the quietens, the sweet sound of air breeze sweeping on the green grace of home .. listen to the Violin, the strings of the Mandolin, the sound of Harmonica and whispering of Harb and the tickling of Piano .. watch the Babi smile, his waving hands, the pleasure in his eyes, the softness of his skin, the beautiful smell of his breath.. You are not alone.. I am not alone because I have my sight, my brain ,my soul, my hearing, smelling, tasting, thinking, touching and talking... you are not alone, I doubt it if you still feel LONELY .

Keep yourself busy. Much better if you are busy with other people or being around people most of the time. Remember, you can be alone but not lonely. If you are lonely, then you have been alone for too long.

Know that it will pass, and in the meantime, pamper yourself with a facial, massage, etc.
