KEBI stands for Kamus Elektronik Bahasa Indonesia which means the Indonesian Electronic Dictionary. KEBI is developed as part of the Multilingual Machine Translation System (MMTS) Project in BPPT (Agency for the assessment and application of technology). The main role of KEBI is to give the wording information to the Indonesian Analysis System and Generation System of the MMTS. The Project itself have been ended and resulted many fruitfull items including KEBI.

Now the Internet users can use this dictionary through the KEBI Online service. Users could find the meaning of the Indonesian word by inputting the Indonesian root word or derivation word. This feature is existing to help the foreigners that generally feel difficult to find the right Indonesian root word from the derivation word they found.

We provide the guest book for user comments, critics, and suggestions for this service. Also, we provide the add facility for inputting the Indonesian words that unexist in KEBI database. We need your help to build a more complete dictionary. If you couldn't find an entry in the KEBI Online for some Indonesian words, please send them to us by filling in the existing form. Each input is extremely valuable for future development of KEBI.
