1) Midol, not natural, but it works.
2) Curl up in a ball. Sometimes, laying on your stomach, pulling one leg up and leaving the other one straight works.
3) Just kinda move about until you find a position where they subside.
4) Herbal tea can make it go away, but I really am a fan of Midol.
5) Honestly, though, just lay down, find a position that is bearable and hope to God you pass out quickly.
6) Have you tried a hot bath? I've found that if you take a hotter one than usual, you kinda 'forget' that you have cramps, and if you get to bed fast enough, you'll be asleep before they come back.
Woah, can you tell I'm tired? I hope this made sense.
Edited to add: In my tired stupor, I forgot the one that helped me most of all: THE PILL! Seriously ... I used to get cramps that had me bowled over at work, and my period would last for over a week. Since I've been on the pill, they last 3 days, and I only get a little uncomfortable as opposed to doubling over in pain. May be something to look at.
Also, have you seen a gyn? You may have endometriosis .. A lady I work with had crazy cramps too .. she would literally pass out in the back office. Turns out she had endo. You probably don't, but it never hurts to get it looked at. While you're at it, get the pill! :)

A hot water bottle or a jar of hot water held over the lower abdomen helps me a lot, the heat helps relax the contracting muscles and soothes the pain. I usually try to pop some IBU Profin as soon as I feel the slightest cramp because mine make me want to pass out, they're so excruciating...and if I wait until they're really bad for meds, it doesn't help...but that's me...but, yeah, heat usually helps and maybe a light massage, stretching, anything to sort of relax and bring down the tension and swelling. IBU Profin is good because it doens't have aspirin (or very little) and it's made to be an anti-inflamitory--I think the inflamation in the uterus is what starts the cramps, that and the contractions, and the tearing of tissues (probably doesn't make you feel much better, hahaha, sorry)
Oh and I've heard that drinking soy milk a few weeks before your period and during (basically all the time, haha) helps to lessen cramping...but I just heard that, I haven't tried it yet.

Try Pamprin. That helped my ex out a lot and she had really painful periods. The heating pad is a good idea too. To sleep you might try Benadryl. But stop taking it when you think you can sleep without it because you really don't want to become dependent on that to sleep. Also you could go to the doctor and get Ambien or Lunesta for times when you have trouble sleeping. Sorry that those weren't natural remedies, but I know a lot more about conventional medicines than I do about herbs :)

if I know im going to start my period, I take 2 midol pills before it starts so I won't get cramps. I used to get really bad cramps and I bought a heating pad and would put it on my stomach as I sleep or layyed down, it really worked because it kept my stomach warm and relaxed me. Try it.

I have TERRIBLE cramps whenever I get my period. Psychotic killer craps from space. What works for me: 1 pill of the highest strength Midol available. I've heard chocolate helps, but I've also heard caffine worsens it...and there's alot of caffine in chocolate....can't say I've tried that remedy though.

Midol works really well, but it takes about fifteen minutes to kick in.
So take it fifteen minutes before you go to bed, it will last for hours of effect and help you get some sleep.

If you feel nauseated, you should try some charcoal pills, you can pretty much buy them at any health store, GNC, places like that.

warm shower followed by tea. Also try keeping your feet elevated and you'll notice a bit of difference.
