There is no real answer to this question but what I have learned of what love is to me is...
(L)isten: and Validate them by hearing and empathizing.
(O)verlook: their minor character flaws as they will overlook yours.
(V)alue: who they are and what they mean to you.
(E)xpress: how you love them not just with words but with actions.

Since it's quite possible that you request this answer from dimension 4, lower levels, let's wrap this up simply:
LOVE is the energy that keeps YOU away from US, but you already knew that. The fact that there is a growing number of silent warriors that know this is what really scares you, since you feed on the opposite of love, which is FEAR. Since we can repel you BY loving you, it's even more dangerous for you. Find something else to feed on, because:
WE are watching YOU now -- know it and become aware that we have the secret, and it's spreading...
Otherwise, LOVE is the reigning universal truth, and any extended deviation from it results in suffering...

Of all the emotions of humans, this is the one most likely--if exercised--to preserve the human race.
Its definition is as varied as there are people with feelings; each must find his/her definition of it that works.
It's source is a sneaking suspicion that there is a lot of worthiness in all of us, were it cultivated from birth. And, it is not far from the religious/ethics plea to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. An acceptance of the idea of worthiness of other people...and is not a long shot from there to focus that admiration on an individual person. Thus love really moves from the general to the specific.

Love is when you care about the well being of persons other than yourself. Of course, even a narcissis loves, but only themselves.
Love does not grieve others, is not selfish, puts others before themselves. There are different kinds of love; Love for a Higher Power; Love of others; Romantic Love. "Love makes the World go 'round, All you need is Love, Love lifts us up" well, you get the gist. "So find yourself somebody to Love."

Love is a four letter word assigned to physical and emotional changes that happen in our bodies via our brain when interacting with others that may be a suitable mate, or is a familiar appearence in our daily lives, such as parents and children. It is also Evol spelled backwards.

Love is an emotion for the weak... for those who can't stand alone... and need a crutch to lean on. Love is a plague on the human race.

Love is simply this; For God so loved the world that He sent his only betgotten Son, so that who ever believes in Him shall not parish, but have everlasting life. (1John 3:16) Love is God.Love came from the Creator in Heaven. The earthly love that we have will never compare to God's love.

love is when you miss someone when their not there. It's when you start doing things like picking up black socks for them because they mentioned that they can't find any. Its when you put their feelings before your own and consider their likes and dislikes before making a decision. It's knowing what their thinking before they say it out loud. Its wanting to be with them when their not there. its laughing at their jokes even when its horrible. Love is a connection that is shared by two people.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
(1 Corinthians 13:4-7)
I am not a christian but I do believe in what that verse says.

To know "Love".. look at the blue Sky above.. look at the purity of the sea water.. look at green bright leaves shining on the trees.. look at bright morning and the shinning sun .. look at the moon above.. the shining stars .. the quietens the sweet sound of air breeze sweeping on the green grace of home .. listen to the Violin, the strings of the Mandolin, the sound of Harmonica and whispering of Harb and the tickling of Piano .. watch the Babi smile, his waving hands, the pleasure in his eyes, the softness of his skin, the beautiful smell of his breath.. it is love that I love me .. I love my brain, my soul, my looking, my walking, my hearing, smelling, tasting, thinking, touching and talking... "LOVE" is to love everything and ignore "UGLINESS".. that's called love.

Love is the feeling you show to someone or others. It is selfless, and often misunderstood. It is when you think of the other person and not yourself and not expect anything in return, that's love.
