I have always wondered if Man Utd fans are upset that they have never won the UEFA Cup. One of the reasons for their UEFA Cup failure is that they rarely compete it it. Instead they are in the UEFA Champions League most seasons. Nonetheless, Man Utd did win the now defunct Cup Winners Cup in 1991.

Incidentally, last season Man Utd finished bottom of their Champions League group, when a 3rd-place finish would have got them into the UEFA Cup (into the 3rd round stage or something)

The UEFA Cup Winners Cup only once in 1991 (in the same year they won the European Super Cup too).
The UEFA European Cup/Champions' League twice in 1967-68 and 1998-99.

The Champions League is the ultimate club prize in European football. United have won the trophy twice, in 1968 and 1999, although Real Madrid have the record number of wins, with eight European Cups to their name.
