Right now Thomas Jones is more accomplished, Benson didn't even play a full game last year. I'm thinkin its gonna be Jones, at least that's what the PTI guys said earlier.

Thomas Jones wil get the nod for the start, even though he was bumped to the 2nd team during OTA meetings. Jones has proven he can run the ball in Chicago's system (1335 yards last season and 948 yards the season before). Lovie Smith wanted a tough as nails runner and got it in Jones.
With their #4 pick, Chicago drafted Cedric Benson. Management felt he would make an even stronger power runner who could split defenders the way he did back in Texas. From what I have seen of his running so far, he is a long ways from reaching that goal. However, Chicago has vested too much money in Benson not to use him.
Jones will start for the Bears, but will split carries and time with Benson. After a few games, a more defined starter will be selected and be given a higher percentage ofthe carries. In my opinion, Jones should be able to hold off Benson for the starter job, leaving Benson as a change of pace back and Adrian Peterson as the 3rd down RB (who just got a 3-year extension on his contract).

Jones will end up starting if he stays with the team. The reasons...he knows how to block for the passing game (Benson struggled last year) and for now he catches the ball out of the backfield better than Benson. Benson is a talented runner but like any rookie it is tough to be a complete player as a running back.
Right now with Jones not showing up to the OTA's it's a tough call because the Bears might keep their options open for trading him away.
Overall for the next two years T. Jones is a solid talented back no matter where he goes and his #'s will be better. Cedric has the potential to grow in to the same type of back he was in college if given the chance. 20-30 carries/100 yards a game every game. He'll be good around the goalline and a workhorse back, think Rudi Johnson.

Ultimately it is going to be Cedric Benson. But from an fantasy standpoint, if you take Thomas Jones you'd better take Benson too, or else you're going to be in trouble if Jones loses his job during the season. I'd just avoid this at all costs.
That being said, Jones is better right now, with Benson having great potential down the road.

Thomas Jones deserves to remain the starter, but because Da Bears gave Benson top 5 draft pick money last year, he will probably get the majority of carries this year (probably 70%).
I would be very surprised to see Chicago trade Julius's brother. The NFL is becomming a league where you need two good RB's due to injuries. Very few RB's go a full season with no injuries.
At the end of the year, I would expect Benson to have about twice as many yards as Jones, but Jones will have about as many TD's as Benson and probably a little better YPC.

Jones will get the start w/ Benson stealing some of his carries. Unfortunately, the Bears didn't know how good Thomas Jones could be before they drafted Benson.
They could have taken Mike Williams or Troy Williamson at WR. With Cadillac Williams still on the board, the Bears could have done better if they still decided to go RB....

I think most probably Thomas Jones will be traded and Cedric Benson will become the Featured back. The reason, Benson is making featured back money.
Further even if thomas jones is not traded then it would be a runninng back by committee.
Either way stay of either one of them till you know who is going to be the back.

Cedric Benson should get more carries this year and is the better fantasy option than Thomas Jones.

It seems the Bears were trying to trade Thomas Jones recently. They seem to be putting their faith in Benson. Thomas Jones is a damn good running back. He didn't let the Bears down last season. I would prefer him to start over Benson.
