Really depends on what type of Rock style.
What do you want or don't want to say with it
(this great place to get free marketing if done right for "Plugs"
Don't under mind the "hype" or "buzz" effect on people.

The way the album/CD looks may make as much or even more important to whether people buy/don't buy.
"Picture can say a 1000 words..."

On the yahoo check top album covers of all time (do some simply research) www.planetgarth.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13775 - 175k

Release Year: 2005. Running Time: 91mins. Data Format: DVD Video ... after her celebrated cover ablum "Covers"! This new single is ... single went to the top of the Japanese Indies Charts ...www.jpophelp.com/scripts/proddetails.asp?artist=Ray&dnum=200

The key here is to get them to pick it up if in a store setting(more likly to buy)

Read marketing books or

the movie "Coke Conquest" www.montrealmirror.com/ARCHIVES/1998/010898/nm15.html

Make connection with promo people & send free stuff to radio station that will play "up & coming" or "new music" stuff.

May want to give it away for Free just to get your name out there
Power of people just knowing who the hell you are is most important at the start.

depends on what type you are going for, punk rock and roll, maybe Lost and Found, heavy metal rock and roll, maybe Eye on a Hook, you could just go self title by the name of the band, or really trippy and word play crazy like purple frogs and gummi bares, it all depends on the music you play, and what kind of person you are lol.

The best names capture the essence of what is on the album so that just mentioning it or remembering it evokes all the songs associated with it. Just to have a "cool" name is vapid.
