Well... This have to depend on how family-oriented you are. And also how money-minded you are.

How low can your salary be if you are working near ur family. And how high can it be if you work far away from them? I dont think the difference will be huge.

The question is a little ambiguous. Are you referring to your parents and siblings, or to your own family (wife, kids)? In the first case just move out - you probably spent enough time with them, and living away gives you an opportunity to build something on your own. You can always visit. I assume therefore it's the latter...

It depends then on how much your family is worth to you and how strong your family ties are. Do you have kids? If so, do you want to be a part of their lives, be around, spend a lot of time with them, or just send money home for college? You can probably do this for a limited time period, but at some point the family situation will suffer.

Why not take the family AND the higher salary? Just relocate...

well if you have a better salary then you could afford to travel to see them, without having then criticizing your choices. Are you talking mother/father or wife/kids....... if it's wife kids stay with them........ I live 8 hours away from family and it was hard at first, but it has helped me be a more self-dependant person.

it is like a choice b/w inner satisfaction and livelihood. ofcourse it is difficult but if we love our family that means whatever we do is for our family too. So if you are far away from ur family to earn money it is good for u and ur family try to earn more and bring ur family where ever u r. in this way u will have both innersatisfaction & safe life.

good luck.
Life is full of choices choose carefully
