I used to do the penpalling by snail mail but kind of save much by using the email at the moment, but I know snail mail are much warmer to connecting people and keep the communication. So what do you think in your practise?

I believe that email is convenient because it is faster, and you get responses quicker, but, like you said, snail mail is much friendlier and more personal. It is just something about reading a letter that someone took the time out of their busy schedule to write to you that makes your day just that much better. It makes you feel thought of and appreciated. Anyone can hop on a computer and type up an email, but it takes someone a lot of thought to sit down and write to someone. I hope I've helped you in at least some way! Good luck penpalling!

I like email because I can access it from just about anywhere, and it is good to have a reminder of the conversations I have had with people. Best of all, email betrays nothing about the amount of obsessive editing and re-editing I've done over a particularly important email I've been composing.

On rare occasions, though, like birthdays, Mother's Day and Father's Day, and as thanks for exceptional acts carried out by close friends or family, I will write an actual snail mail letter to someone. Unfortunately, my handwriting is atrocious, so I try to compensate for that by using nice paper and typing the entire note up in Notepad.exe in advance so I can simply transcribe it and not crumple up a dozen tries at getting it right. The people who get these have told me that these letters have made them feel extra special, since it obviously took more thought and effort than simply shooting an email off to them. Please give it a try sometime.

email is much quicker i like to keep in touch with my friends by email. However that does not mean that every now and than i dont send them a card or a letter by snail mail. I love to write letters to my boyfriend when I am away even if i have access to a computer because i want him to have something that he can take with him everywhere
