I'm applying to vet schools in the fall and I'm looking for advice from anyone with experience getting into one! My biggest weakness is that I have a business/computer degree and only the prereq science courses. I'm a vet tech. My grades are good. Anything else I should be looking for/working on?

I'll be in school until I start vet school, still taking prereqs. They allow you to apply while you are currently taking them. So unfortunately working fulltime and taking two lab classes a semester is about all I can handle as far as schooling.

I would make sure you have lots of expereicnce in many areas. Make sure your VCAT scores are high or retake the test. If you can maybe take a couple extra classes this summer dealing with Animal Science or related fields.

I would think your job as a vet tech would be a strong asset for you. Can you pick up some sort of formal training at a nearby school between now and the time you'd start vet school? Even if you were just enrolled and taking it, it would enhance your application.
