Nah. It takes a horrible voice to raise a singer/songwriter to the legendary level of a Bard -- the French have a passel of these moody old emo farts who growl their neuroses out over a few notes and they get wild acclaim, and the ultimate primo A - Number One Russian bard is this guy named Vysotsky whose liver exploded (big surprise there) about 30 years ago but before he joined the Pantheon of Dead Musicians this guy's voice made Dylan sound like Donny Osmond's.

For some odd reason, I actually like his voice. Not that I think he is a good singer but there is a lot of feeling behind it. I just don't think the music would have had the same effect.

In response to a previous poster, Hey Joe was not originally by Bob Dylan and then covered by Hendrix.. that was All Along the Watchtower

That just adds to the phenomenon of his success. There was a time when music was judged by whether the record actually said something. And Dylan's songs did and still do.

There's so much more to music than, "It's got a good beat" and "It's good to dance to." These days the music industry is more about gimmicks than about talent. Singers with "nice" voices and not a brain in their heads are a dime a dozen.

I agree with you that he is not a very good singer, but I couldn't really imagine anyone else doing his songs.
I think his voice suits his songs.

I personnally think of they have the comparable variety of making a music accessory in all of their songs. i in my view can comprehend those 2 with regard to the comparable rather. the two are magnificent songwriters yet no longer the final singers for my section.
