Didn't John Hinckley, Jr. have schizophrenia, speaking of dangerous?
If properly treated and medicated, schizophrenics aren't all dangerous. However, it sounds as though your bf's mother may not be getting treated for her illness.

Yes and no. The movie, "A Beautiful Mind" was Russell Crow dangerous. Not he is brillant among many other genius' that have passed "Edgar Allen Po" "Einstein." If you do research on Schizophrenia all it is....a tier from Obessive Compulsive Disorder. Now, society today has accepted OCD, but Schizophrenia is perserved as crazy. you really need to read the journal article about the "Schizophrenic mind" Truely brillant and amazing.

There are different types of Schizophrenia
If she is a
Paranoid type
Delusions and auditory hallucinations predominate in patients with this subtype of schizophrenia while their affective and cognitive functioning remain relatively intact.
This type of patient often has highly elaborate delusions of persecution or personal grandeur. However, the patient may appear rather normal until he or she becomes entangled in typical argumentativeness and suspiciousness.

Yes, people with schizophrenia can be dangerous. It depends on the person and their diagnosis and also the meds they are on. If you are worried about her behavior you should talk to your guy friend about it.

Yes they can.
A good school friend of mine started to become very violent & he was eventually sent to an institution because he started fires in his neighbourhood and had become uncontrollable.
I believe (???) his condition was caused by drug abuse, but I'm not entirely sure ...
Try to be as nice as possible to her. Don't snap & yell.
Talk to your boy about it, maybe he can get through to her that she's being a bit over-the-top. I wouldn't recommend confronting her yourself.

that doesn't sound like anything to do with the actual disorder. it sounds more like she's very overprotective.as long as she's on medication she should be okay most of the time. talk to him and ask him why she does this, and then decide if he's worth it.
