I believe Martha Stewart has been treated unfairly by the media.
She seems to be a good person, but she is not warm and fuzzy, not the expressive touchy-feely type. When a woman has that type of personality, she comes across as cold and calculating.
The thing is, Ms. Stewart acts the same way that many of her male peers do; like the incredibly sucessful entrepreneur that she is. I'm sure she is a taskmaster and incredibly demanding.
Again, if she were a man, people would think there was nothing unusual about her behavior. After all, do we really believe that men like Gates, Branson, Turner, Welch, etc. are kind and sweet to their employees all the time? I highly doubt it. Type A personalities are very driven, hardworking, and demand results from those who work from them.
This is the same reason that she ended up in jail. She did nothing more than what many others do every day in wealthy circles. However, they made an example out of her because she is a woman. That is my perception on the matter.
Yes, Martha Stewart might be scary to some people, but I admire her talents and I think she makes the world more beautiful. I wish I could do a third of the things she does...and, no, I hardly ever watch her show and I'm not subscribed to her magazine because I am not crafty and it only serves to frustrate me!

She isn't scary, but aggressive, and confident. She's tall and attractive, and was a model when she was young. Some people find these characteristics scary or intimidating.
