That shouldn't be too hard.
A box with a hinged door on the top. Put Jack on a spring and affix it to the bottom inside of the box. Attatch a crank opperated music box. Add an arm that would release a latch on the door when it hits a certain point in the song. The door itself would be opened by Jack's mighty kinetic energy once the door is no longer holding him back.
Make sure it's Jack though.
Don't use Charlie.
Nobody wants to play with a Charlie in the box.
His name is ALLLLLLL WRONG! That's why he's a misfit.

It would be easier and cheaper to just go to Toys-R-Us and buy one. (Is that store still around?) Just outline the Jack in crayon or colored markers and everyone will think you made it.
