Name: Gossamer
Birth date: May 25, 1946
Known as: Rudolph, Orange Monster
One of the most asked about and loved minor character ever to be created in the Looney Tunes World, Gossamer
the red hair, sneaker wearing monster was created by Chuck Jones in 1946's "Hair Raising Hare" where Bugs Bunny
is lured to the castle by a mechanical rabbit for Gossamer to eat.
Six years would pass before we would again see Gossamer and in the 1952 "Water, Water, Every Hare" the mad
scientist (Peter Lorre) again sends his scariest monster (named Rudolph at this time) to capture Bugs. Then in 1980
Gossamer would finally get his name in "Duck Dodgers and the Return to The 24th 1/2 Century" where his name
would stick forever and he would become a star on his own. Gossamer rarely speaking, and is somewhat intelligent
is a sucker for a good makeover, he enjoys manicures and salons and as we found out later is only a solid mass of
hair wearing sneakers. Gossamer can be found everywhere from key chains to stuffed dolls and has made numerous
appearances in comic books.
