Men have testosterone, a hormone that generally produces more strength and other typical male characteristics.
Women do have testosterone too, but in lower levels.

I guess you mean "Why are men taller and stronger than women?"
That is not always so. I am not that tall but I know several men shorter than me.
And men may be physically stronger for the most part, but women are stronger in most other ways---especially when it comes to willpower & being able to endure bad circumstances.
For example, woman put up with a lot of crap before quitting a job but men will blow their top & just up & quit. It's about the same thing with relationships, too.

that is a stereotype. Men and women are all sizes and shapes, and also vary in strength. Some women can outlift most men and are taller than most men. Some men can not lift much at all and are shorter than most women. It all averages out that more men are taller and stronger than women, so you are talking of a virtual average instead of a reality. Therefore I would have to say on average men are taller and stronger than women due to higher levels of testosterone in some cases, heredity in others, and working out at the gym (in the case of strength) in still others.
