I would rather be Rich n Hated. Since it is very hard to survive without money these days. The gas price is too high and house's price went to the moon. You got to eat you know.
No matter whether you are rich or poor, there will always be somebody who dislike you. You can't please everybody. So why not be rich.

I would definitely rather be poor and praised. Money doesn't last forever but credibility and respect does. Building a name for yourself and being respected I think is more important than money and is something that money can not buy. What's the point of being rich if everyone hates you and you have to spend the money by yourself? If you want to be rich and hated you might as well be Paris Hilton: a person who is filthy rich but has done nothing to receive all that money, has no credibility, and basically no commonsense whatsoever. Now look at Mother Theresa. She was poor but because of her hard work she will be remembered and her name is immortalized.

Rich and hated. I don't care what people think about me most of the time and there will always be some people who hate you no matter what. I know first hand how much it sucks to be poor and I don't want people praising me for anything.

Rich & hated because the question does not specify what misunderstanding could've taken place in order to have me hated. Poor & praised? Praise is the least of my worries, so my family & I could probably endure hate together on full stomachs.

Poor and Praised, I don't think I could ever be happy if everyone hated me. If I'm poor and praised I might get invited to people's houses and get some free meals, so it might work out.

well let me see, I have been rich befor, than lost it, still owed all the bills even after the money stopped.........surprisingly enough i had a lot of "friends" when I had money............
also have been poor and lived off the government cheese befor....and had FRIENDS then............I think I would rather be poor and praised at least people really like me then...but if I had to have something, I would just like to know that my bills were being paid, my kids and I were alright and healthy..........thats truely priceless!
