Why bother writing them at all then? What was the point of writing them a letter if you're not going to give them a way to contact you? I think there's more to this than you're letting on. But if you really don't want that person to contact you, leave them alone. Don't write and don't call. Just shows a sign that you really want them to contact you, you just don't realize it.

What was in your letter? If it were an angry letter, then not giving them a chance to explain themselves and their actions would be rude. If it were a letter thanking them for something they did, and you want it to be anonymous, then no, it's not rude.
