I think this is a cultural as well as a generational question. The issues society is dealing with today are a tad bit different based on technological "improvements. For instance, you could not have asked this question to such a large audience in '69 when Hendrix cut Electric Ladyland...the music itself was the primary communication channel for the youth. Now it's texting, voice mail and "IM's"..SO i would say as a process the old music had a better "authenticity" to it as it was a call out to people to rally and come together...just an opinion.

i absolutley love the "good old rock" classics, but i don't really miss 'em... i STILL listen to those bands today! music now-a-days suck so bad (except for maybe a handful).
we can't forget about:
Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, The Beatles, The Who, CCR, Crosby, Stills & Nash (without Young!), E.L.O., Cream, Jim Croce, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Lou Reed/Velvet Unerground, Steppenwolf, Van Morrison, The Grateful Dead, Cat Stevens, etc.

Very much...Music just isn't the same any more. I'm glad that some of these 70's groups are trying to make a come-back.

Yeah, of course. At least the clasic albums will always be there for us to enjoy. I could listen to "Are You Experienced" and "The Wall" all day long.
