In light of the proposed postage increase, this just after the one back in January, I find that the service gets worse all the time. Our mail is never put up in the boxes until 10:30 a.m. Not one day goes by that we don't get someone else's mail in our box. Wonder who got my mail? I paid over $6 for a certified letter to be mailed, only to receive an unsigned unpostmarked "receipt" card in my box. Oh, last month I received a Christmas card postmarked December 12 from Arkansas to Oklahoma.... Today, I accidently left my post office box key in my desk when I went to get the mail. I live in a town of 20,000 and have for over 45 years. I have registered my name on my post office box registration. I have a driver's license, yet they refused to retrieve my mail. I had to resort to driving another six mile round trip back with the key. I was so angry, I was shaking. What as consumers can we do to take action? Remember when postage was 10 cents and the postman actually worked

There is no hope. There is nothing you can do. American society is beyond the point of no return to government by the people, for the people, of the people. Now, government can do anything it wants with you, any time, any place. You need permission from the government to do just about anything. Government is supposed to be our servant, but has become our master. Government is supposed to fear the people, not the other way 'round.

If history is any guide, things get worse and worse until the society bankrupts itself, and can be "taken over" easily by other forces. Then a new society arises, with a rebirth of freedom, and eventually that society too destroys itself.

They do work they are so under staffed it's unreal. There trying. My husband is a mailman here in oklahoma city and they are down 17 carriers. I don't know what more someone like my husband can do. But they have so many rules to carring the mail and not there being watched like hawks. You can trace that certified letter and the carrier will lose his job which means longer to get the mail cause they have to replace that one person and not alot of people are standing in line to walk 20 miles aday carring 150 pounds on there back it's tough work, and to do it 80+ hours is not fun. But I know what you mean sometimes I would have the same complaint if I didn't see it first hand.

I notice that! Since January i have officially lost 7-packages with a total combine value of $560.00, some packages appear to be delivered but to who? i don't know.

Letters never get delivered, and if they do, they are 2-weeks late. Packages that DO arrived, the contents are broken, filing for insurance or to report lost or never received packages is a hassle and at the end, they don't pay anything.

You can't complaint about the services or anything because you're considered a problematic customer. And don't let me start on the long lines at the Postal Offices... all day long! and i live in Miami, not some small rural town.

I hear you! The Postal Service sucks now days. Fed Ex has really cut into their business. Like you said, you pay all that money for a certified letter and then get an unsigned receipt. If you pay money for expedited shipping, they always say they can't guarantee the package will get there. I'm like, what the hell am I paying you extra money for then??? They really need to get it together because they are really sucking here in the last few years!

Complain, petition, assemble.

To be honest, I'm having no problems with my post office, and I live in a much bigger area (Virginia Beach, VA).

It sounds like the problem is your local postal services.

Good Luck!

Well, Ship things through another service if you don't like their performance.

In the end it is the fault of your local post office, not the Postal service as a whole.

Remember, the U.S. Postal Service is still part of the U.S Government and that means that the employees don't care what you think and customer service is for somebody else.

If you wish to lodge a complaint against your local post office, you can call 1-800-275-8777. Then they (local Post Office) will have to call you back to resolve your complaint.
