They are both brilliant in their own rights. You can love a bit of any and everything in music these days.

Hoobastank ... Green Day. Hoobastank seems to have more versatility... slow, fast, intense, and next time you spin a Hoobastank song, listen to the guitar work.
Another nice big deciding factor between the bands: One of the bands has a lead vocalist who's head isn't too big for his body.

Hoobastank's style is different than Green Day's entirely, considering they're two different genres. It's easier to compare Hoobastank with Incubus.

No way...hoobastank only hit song was the reason, that was out of range from the typical hoobastank music, very pop and romantic.
While green day is a pionneer that in my opinion desrves a space in the music hall of fame for its influence, impact on music and its longevity and tendency to make every record they make a hit.

In my personal opinion, I think Hoobastank rocks. They're my favorite band, but according to the world, they sure aren't the best band in the world. But a lot of their songs are great, I like how they created their album with all these different type of genres. This is what I mainly love about them, and not to forget about the lyrics that they write.

No, Hoobastank is not better. I like their songs and I think they are better than Tenacious D, Queens of the Stone Age, and a few other bands that came out around the same time as them. I would put them as the same or less than Papa Roach, Alien Ant Farm, Trapt, Linkin Park, and some others

Green Day is much better in my opinion. Their lyrics are more interesting, and they have had several more hit songs.
Hoobastank is okay, and I suppose it is possible for them to catch up...Green Day has been popular LONGER so they have a head start.

Absolutely not! The lead singer (don't know his name) sings about his thoughts. And he sings like his thoughts are so huge and revolutionary! He makes a big deal out of himself, I guess. I don't them at all, at least Green Day knows how to play guitar and sing!
