It's almost the middle on winter and I want to start planting things. Flowers - Fruit & Veg...BUT WHAT?
I live in the Blue Mountains, Sydney.
What should i begin planting?
If anyone can give me the best things & times to plant in all seasons, it would be greatly appreciated

Winter is a wonderful time for gardening. Plant any number of deciduous trees. Maples, Manchurian pear, ornamental plum, crepe myrtle is beautiful; fruiting trees such as apple, peach, nectarine, plums and raspberry canes. Try grapes and put in rhubarb now. go into your local nursery. They will have a good selection of all the veggies and advice on what to plant. Roses are my favourite. They are sold bare rooted now and are cheaper than buying in summer. Most all evergreen plants can be transplanted now. There is heaps for you to choose form. Have a look in the local library for a good gardening book and also there are a lot of magazines. I like the ABC Gardening Australia mag. Hope this helped. Good Gardening.

Pansies will endure winter unless there is a severe freeze. Plant crocus bulbs for early spring shoots, and you can follow them with a variety of daffodils. Brussel Sprouts, cabbage, and greens are good veggies that like cold weather.

I know just how you feel. When the weather is dreary, nothing warms the sould like planting something and watching it grow. Go with the pansies for immediate gratification!

Veggies need warmth and lots of sunshine. the only thing we plant where we are (georgia, USA) is pansy, a pretty little flower that likes the cold. colors are purple, white, lavender. Check with your local nursery and see what grows best there.

The only thing I plant in the winter is my butt on the sofa in front of the tv. Unlike Sydney, it snows on the upper side of the planet in the winter. (how do you folks down under hold on?)
